DEAR SONNY CARTER FAMILIES,

Welcome to Sonny Carter Elementary where GREAT HAPPENS!  I am abundantly blessed to serve as your Principal! Moreover, I look forward to working with each of you as we strive to educate children and encourage a love for learning. While these unprecedented times bring many challenges, together we can navigate through and achieve great success.  As your Principal, I strongly believe that it is my responsibility to create a safe and nurturing learning environment so that students receive a quality education and are able to demonstrate readiness for college or career pathways.  My philosophy of education is grounded in my core belief that education is the vehicle which transports children safely through their meandering journey of intellectual, social, emotional, and physical development. It is driven by individuals who are deeply committed to following the road map which leads to their intrinsic belief that "all children can learn."  Leaders and teachers have distinctive roles in impacting the lives of children forever.   As your Principal, I will strive to create a school culture of inspiration so that all students and staff have the opportunity to achieve their fullest potential. No child is exempt or left behind. All children have the right to ride in this "priceless" vehicle. It is especially equipped to help children arrive at their destinations of being lifelong learners and productive citizens in a global world.
