Introducing...PBIS Rewards!

In August 2018 Carter Elementary School launched PBIS Rewards. We chose to utilize this system in order to streamline our acknowledgement system, ensure fidelity, and align our PBIS implementation with the Bibb County School District's technology initiative.

What is PBIS Rewards?

PBIS Rewards is a school-wide acknowledgement system. It allows students to be continuously recognized for exhibiting behavior expectations throughout the school. All students at Carter are given ID badges. Each student's badge has his/her picture, as well as a QR code, and as an added bonus, a barcode with his/her lunch number. These badges can be scanned by any staff member's mobile device through the PBIS Rewards Staff app.

How does PBIS Rewards work?

The students receive points (called "Leader Points") from staff members for following behavioral expectations as listed on the matrix, exhibiting any of the 7 Habits from Leader in Me, and for those students who ride the bus, SOAR bus points. PBIS Rewards tracks student points electronically, and allows the school PBIS Team to ensure students are receiving acknowledgements. At Carter, students can use their points to attend monthly celebrations, held on the last Friday of each month.

PBIS Rewards...now for Parents!

The PBIS Rewards Parent app is available in the iTunes and Google Play stores, free of charge. It allows parents to check student progress towards grade-level monthly goals. If you would like an invitation to view your child's data, please email Mrs. Mary Kathryn Stokes, Carter's PBIS Coach, at [email protected].
